Breathe

Just To(o) Long(?)

"a piece of micro-theatre set in a dinner party that is both imaginary and real"The Guardian

Six strangers meet at a secret location.

A phone call is made.

The voice guides them to a house.

They let themselves in…

up the stairs and through the door of a private flat.

Leaving their belongings in the hallway and their trust in the hands of the anonymous hosts, they take a seat at a table for a dinner party with a difference!

An intimate, intense and highly sensory experience.

Inside the domestic setting, the table is set for six. During the evening, the audience sit amongst strangers where their senses are tickled and teased, as the artists attempt to illustrate personal and collective memories of food, eating and home. This tantalising experience entices the audience into a world of make believe where they play and participate in a selection of atmospheres and settings.

The performance is sited in a house and lasts approx. 40mins.

After last years success on board Dr Roberts Magic Bus with Crossed Wires, an "ultimate live art performance, bridging the gap between performer and spectator", "Brilliantly imaginative, totally original and inspiring experience" (Edinburgh Guide), the Breathe girls are back to tantalise your taste buds and experience a dinner with a difference. For 4 years Breathe have been making small scale performances where they ask their audience to share in a one-to-one experience. They are interested in the strangers and their potential to be friends, lovers or enemies. And this year they return with a new performance created to encounter new strangers.

For this performance the artists were mentored by Leslie Hill (Curious) and recieved advice from Ayla Suveren (Arts Producer).

Just To(o) Long(?) has been selected for Escalator East to Edinburgh. Every year Escalator East to Edinburgh helps artists and arts organisations to raise their profile and perform to new audiences as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

"This intelligent and utterly surreal performance is like a work of art to inspire and feed the soul."The Edinburgh Guide
