The Hat Shop

Welcome to The Hat Shop, please come in, browse a little…

maybe something will take your fancy.
 This is a unique experience to enter a corner shop full of hats
greeted by an attendant who will do their best to find something to suit.
You are invited to borrow a hat for an hour to wear as you
stroll around the Winchester Hat Fair.

Step inside the hat shop and feast your eyes upon all its gems. Greeted with the vast array of hats that are waiting for their next chance to be worn. You leave reality outside and have entered a surreal journey, which is both tantalizing and indulging. Loose yourself in the experience where the dressers will find just the right hat for you. This hat shop endeavors to fulfill all your needs as you find that perfect hat. Wear it with pride and turn the heads of the people you pass as you enjoy the atmosphere of the Winchester Hat Fair.

A new fairytale is being written and you must return before the clock strikes on your given hour. The hat has a tale already, now it is your turn to add to it. On your return to the shop you retell your story and add the next leaf of the hat’s tale.

This is new work commissioned by Cornershop, Winchester.
Working together with students from the University of Winchester; Leanne Johnson and John May will both be performing in The Hat Shop.
